Keukenhof is worth more than a quick day trip from Amsterdam. Our working farm in Noordwijk aan Zee sits right in the Dutch bulb region. Keukenhof is a 20-minute drive away and the flower fields start right behind the house.
Flower fields behind the house
Behind our caravan, the tulip and flower fields stretch out towards the horizon. On a sunny spring day you can see the colours from the veranda. Rent a bike and you're cycling between the fields in minutes.
Keukenhof 2027
In 2027 Keukenhof is open from 18 March until early May. Check keukenhof.nl for exact dates and tickets. Tickets come with a fixed time slot, so book them in advance. Arrive early in the day for a quieter visit.
Not every bulb flowers at the same time. Late March is mostly crocuses, daffodils and hyacinths. The tulip fields are usually at their best from mid to late April, depending on the weather.
Keukenhof, beach and dunes in one trip
After a day among the flowers, drive ten minutes to the beach of Noordwijk for a walk or dinner by the sea. Leiden, with its canals and museums, is about 15 minutes away. Amsterdam is roughly 45 minutes by car.
Two places to stay
The caravan sleeps up to five people and has a large, partly covered veranda and a private garden. The tiny house behind the farm sleeps up to three. Both are pet friendly, and the farm is home to horses, goats, sheep, chickens and rabbits.
